Congratulations to our superb Training Officer, Lt (SCC) Harrison RNR whose unending enthusiasm and commitment was recognised today by the Area Office Cdr Gary Mills RN. Well done Ma’am, well deserved.
Excellent effort by our cadets and thank you to the support staff including CPO White being referee.
Tewkesbury Sea Cadets took part in the Tewkesbury Remembrance parade 2023. It was a wet day, but not wet enough to stop Training Ship (TS) Otter remembering the fallen. TS Otter was awarded the best youth marching group (uniformed) on parade by the Mayor. Very smart they were indeed. We will remember them.
Well done to the eight teams of Cadets for supporting the the British Legion Poppy Appeal this morning. They raised £580.66 and attended the 2 minutes silence at the cenotaph. Excellent effort.
I am so very proud of the achievements of our cadets at the National Combined Regatta pictured here with the MSSC CEO, Mr Martin Coles and Area Officer Cdr Gary Mills RN. Not only did TS Otter win the overall Yole cup at the regatta, but the points heavily contributed to South West area winning the Overall Regatta Cup. Well done cadets and a big thank you to the parents who came to support the cadets at the regatta and staff who made it happen. Special mention must go to CI Stewart Harrison for his most excellent Yole instruction. A massive BZ from me. CO
Well done to the cadets who helped raise money for the Tewkesbury Christmas Lights association and ourselves at the Christmas Lights switch on. Great fun and well into the festive spirit.
A superb turnout and display of excellent marching and disipline was shown by Tewkesbury Sea Cadets on the Tewkesbury Remembrance Parade. TS Otter paid their respects and remembered the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those that have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
The UMC are delighted to announce that the galley project is now completed and we have a fantastic new facility to teach cooking and for unit entertaining.
We are delighted to share that our own Training Officer, Lt (SCC) Harrison RNR has been awarded a Commendation from the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire for volunteering above and beyond during lock down. Congratulations and well deserved Ma'am.
A great evening of fun and games, on and off the water this evening with dinghies out and leadership fun.

Many congratulations to the drill team who won the unarmed Drill at HMS Raleigh. A surperb display of how to carry out the manouvres. Also many congratulations to LC Zoe for coming third in the best squad commander competition. Great work by the squad commander, drill team and not forgetting all the hard work put in by the instructors. Watch the action.
The best of luck to LC Scott Buchanan who starts his training to become a Royal Marines Commando!
Unarmed winners and best Squad Commander A huge well done to the Cadets, they did themselves and the unit proud. Massive thanks to the staff who put so much time and effort in to allow the cadets to achieve this great result
Congratulations to LC McCoubrie who has just passed his Petty Officer Cadet advancement board. Well done Ryan - this really is the pinnacle achievement for any senior cadet! #veryproudCO!!!
This years Severn District Football Competition was intensely fought with a very high standard of football being played. Junior Section combined with Malvern to put in a valiant display but with only 4 players it was always going to be really really tough. I did see lots of smiles and teamwork going on and their contribution certainly helped TS Otter’s result in the Overall Competition, so well done Juniors. Junior Boys won every game until the final when pitted against Worcester. A result had to be found in the final and at full time and still a draw the teams elected for a golden goal to decide the winner. A lucky break by Worcester followed by a blistering shot on goal beat our valiant keeper and Tewkesbury were crowned RUNNERS UP. Junior Girls combined with Malvern to put on a majestic display of how it should be done and finished on top. Congratulations to the Tewkesbury Junior Girls WINNERS. Senior Girls again combined with Malvern and, not to be outdone by the Junior Girls, were keen so show they had skills as well. Congratulations Tewkesbury Senior Girls WINNERS. OVERALL Tewkesbury Sea Cadets were the RUNNERS UP in this years Severn District Football Competition with Malvern (our close Oppo’s) the winners. A result that all cadets can share pride in. Bravo Zulu all of you, you did TS Otter proud. PO Anderson
Huge congratulations to Lt (SCC) Tristan Cooper and Chief Paul Mercer who will be presented with the Lord-Lieutenant's award for Meritorious Service Certificate.
Some brilliant results in the area sailing regatta, as well as lots of fun. Particular congratulations to J who came second in the Portsmouth Yardstick (PY) class and will be going on to represent TS Otter at the National competition.
Thank you to everyone who turned out for flag day today- we raised £642.51 plus a trolley token! Over £100 more than last year. Well done everyone. Onwards and upwards to the Morrison's bag pack next weekend!
Thank you to everyone who helped with the bag packing at Morrisons especially those cadets who did a double shift- we raised £917.05 with a further £229 claimable in gift aid at the end of the year. There were so many lovely comments about how polite you were and what a good job you were doing that we were very proud of you all. One man even took a tin of Roses out of his shopping and handed it to Ellie along with a fiver so we will bring those in on Wed to share out. Well done!
